AZIGEN 500 is used for a variety of serious bacterial infections:

Respiratory Tract Infections: Treats acute bacterial exacerbations of chronic bronchitis and community-acquired pneumonia.
Skin & Soft Tissue: Effective against uncomplicated skin infections caused by susceptible bacteria.
ENT Infections: Used for severe cases of sinusitis and tonsillitis.
Urogenital Infections: Prescribed for specific sexually transmitted diseases (STIs) like non-gonococcal urethritis.

Azithromycin binds to the 50S ribosomal subunit of susceptible bacteria, inhibiting protein synthesis. This prevents bacterial growth and multiplication, allowing the immune system to help eliminate the infection.

Timing: Generally taken once daily. It can be taken with or without food, though food may help if stomach upset occurs.
Administration: Swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of water.
Consistency: Complete the full prescribed course to ensure the infection is completely eradicated and to prevent antibiotic resistance.

Caution:Inform your doctor if you have liver disease, kidney disease, or a history of heart rhythm disorders (such as QT prolongation).
Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from heat.
Allergy: Do not take it if you are allergic to Azithromycin or other macrolide antibiotics like Erythromycin.
