CURICEF 1GM is essential for managing serious bacterial conditions:

  • Meningitis: Effectively crosses the blood-brain barrier to treat infections of the brain and spinal cord.
  • Severe Pneumonia: Treats life-threatening respiratory tract infections.
  • Surgical Prophylaxis: Administered before surgery to prevent post-operative infections.
  • Typhoid Fever: Used for the management of complicated or multi-drug resistant typhoid.

Ceftriaxone works by interfering with the synthesis of the bacterial cell wall. By inhibiting the cross-linking of the cell wall structure, it causes the bacteria to lose their integrity and eventually rupture, leading to rapid bacterial death.

  • Timing: Administered as a single daily dose or twice daily depending on the severity of the infection.
  • Administration: For Intravenous (IV) or Intramuscular (IM) use. Must be administered by a qualified healthcare professional.
  • Consistency: The duration of the course is determined by clinical response and lab results.
  • Storage: Store the vial in a cool, dry place. Protect from light.
  • Caution: Inform the healthcare provider of any history of gallbladder or liver disease.
  • Warning: Not for use in neonates with jaundice or those receiving calcium-containing IV fluids.
